White beeswax is wax that has been bleached after removal from the comb. Paler than natural yellow beeswax, it is firm but easily melted and moulded.

Chandlers buy it for fine candles, and apothecaries mix it into ointments and medicinal plasters. After extraction and melting, the wax is washed, divided and exposed to air and dew to lighten it. Its colour reflects work already done by the preparer, before the cargo reaches a candle workshop or apothecary's shop.
